It's been a while! I have been so busy being a mommy, keeping up with my domestic duties and of course enjoying my new pantry that I have not had a chance to snap pictures. Our pantry has been finished for at least 6 months. Some big changes have happened around here. The biggest being sending our youngest off to Kinder this year! Of course it was a bittersweet moment. I will no longer have my little gal pal running around town with me for impromptu mani-pedi dates, lunches or shopping but I will have more time to dedicate to making my house look more like the model homes I dream of. Without further ado here is our brand new pantry...</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I'm totally in love with it! It's so easy to maintain and everything is easily accessible. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
On the upper top left is a Vase that I found at HomeGoods that was damaged in the back. It was just perfect to glam up this space because nobody can see that there are a few glass tiles missing. Inside the vase I stuffed a feather duster that was just too pretty to clean with. On the second shelf I have some airtight glass bottles that store my agave nectar, syrup and soy sauce. I found mine at Ross for $2.99 ea. but have seen the exact same ones at Crate&Barrel for $4.95. To the right of the glass bottles I have a collection of Candy Jars that I found at an awesome divorce sale for a dollar a piece. On the third shelf I have my flour, sugar, oats, rice and hot cocoa mix stored in the Anchor jars from Target. I think they were about $8.00 each for the four larger ones and about $6.00 for the smaller. On the fourth shelf I have two Charlotte lined wire baskets on each end from Cost Plus World Market $12.99 ea. The center basket is from HomeGoods. It is a size in between World Markets Medium and Large baskets and was $12.99. It fits in perfectly and you really cant tell it 's not from the same collection. On the fourth shelf I have a collection of Better Homes and Gardens Flip-Tite storage containers. I purchased two of the boxed 4 piece storage sets for $15.97 each and a few of the 2.7 liter containers that are sold separately. They are the perfect size to fit a whole box of cereal. These containers stack neatly onto one another and fit all kinds of snacks. I love them for things like wheat thins, Rice cakes, marshmallows, nuts craisins etc. On the very far right end of the fourth shelf I have a cute little Kvarnvik linen box that I found at Ikea for $7.99. It stores my bouillon cubes, cooking packet and dip mixes nicely. On the floor is a wine crate that I scored from BevMo for free! I use it to hold all the pouch lunch drinks. As you enter the pantry there is a chalkboard that I made from a cute $1.00 frame that I got from my favorite newly divorced couple. It had a lot of detail but was ugly and dusty. I gave it a glam makeover and Voila!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
No Clutter here! On the top shelf sitting next to the Pellegrino are two penny jars from Target $4.99 each. I use one to store tea bags and the other for drink mix packets. They had a cheap little plastic knob but I replaced them with some cute knobs that I ordered off eBay. In the corner of the shelves I have a double tier lazy susan that I found long ago on clearance at Walmart for about $3 each. I didn't need them when I purchased them and just saved them for a rainy day. They work perfect for my canned goods and I don't have to dig around to find anything any more! </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span class="Apple-style-span">I now use my aborable</span> Charlotte Lined Wire Basket from World Market $24.99 <span class="Apple-style-span">to hold all of the kids bagged lunch chips. I had a stockpile of cake / bake mixes that I did not realize I had... What can I say? We like to celebrate in our house! I had been eyeing this basket at Target and happened to stumble upon it at Goodwill of all places. It was unraveling a bit but was brand new with tags. It retails for $39.99 and I got it for $12.99. My glue gun fixed the unraveling and I was lucky enough to score this awesome basket. </span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span class="Apple-style-span">My favorite part of the pantry is the faux wallpaper stencil painting. It was quite a bit of work but I am so glad I did it. My pantry looks so glam now!</span></div>

Happy Valentines Day! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I spent my morning working on my pantry and was surprised by my husband with a card, huge balloon and an orchid. I am still busy working on my pantry. It really is an overwhelming task but I am sure in the end it will be well worth it. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This morning I received one of the most meaningful valentines ever! Handmade by my 5 year old. She turned 5 at the end of last year and I have been working with her for quite some time on her alphabet. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Now this is a love note to cherish... I'm having a proud mommy moment.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Hope your day was just as sweet. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
xoxo</div>

<br /></div>Moniquehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12691022848390413703noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6204887209785225971.post-35606479339991850282012-02-08T10:43:00.000-08:002012-02-09T09:56:08.376-08:00The Pantry<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;">Where do I start? I am not an organized person nor do I claim to be. I yearn to have one of those houses that looks like a model home. My New Years resolution this year was to be more organized. So I guess now is the time to make that happen, right? I know that organizing is a<span style="color: #1b021d;"> PROCESS</span> and it's not going to happen overnight. Right about now, I wish I could wiggle my nose like Samantha on Bewitched just to get the pantry tidy enough to show you. </span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;">Now my pantry didn't get like this overnight. If I go grocery shopping and ask the kids to help put away the groceries, this is what happens. If I make dinner and ask someone to put away the rice cooker guess what... It ends up on the floor! I have organized an re-organized my pantry and it always ends up looking like an avalanche waiting to happen. This is that room in the house that I just want to close the door on and never open again. Ugh.. I could scream just thinking about it. So without further ado I will now unveil (in a spooky voice) "The Pantry". Yes, I know it needs some serious help!</span><br />
